R&D Incentive System and Performance
To maintain its competitive advantage in technological innovation, Wistron established the Wistron Invention Reward Regulation to systematically encourage employees to engage in R&D. The regulations provide incentives at different stages, including idea proposals, patent applications, patent grants, and technology licensing. An annual patent award ceremony is held to showcase R&D achievements, stimulate innovation momentum, and strengthen overall R&D competitiveness.
In 2025, Wistron continued to expand investment in new technologies, new products, and new ventures, focusing on enhancing patent quality and strategic value, and prioritizing critical patents closely aligned with the Group's R&D direction and core business. Key technology areas include 5G and AI smart applications, smart healthcare, automotive ICT systems, drones, and cloud and liquid cooling technology services. By building a forward-looking global patent portfolio, we strengthen the Group's competitive advantage in critical technology domains. At the same time, we continue to monitor and develop our presence in emerging fields including space technology (including low-orbit satellites) and quantum technology as key technological foundations for long-term growth and sustainable development.
- Note: Wistron was named one of the Top 100 Global Innovators™ by Clarivate in 2025 and one of the Top 10 Innovation Momentum Companies in Taiwan by LexisNexis in 2025
