Wistron Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Wistron) was recently selected by the global non-profit organization CDP as the 2023 CDP Supplier Engagement Leader. This recognition for two consecutive years demonstrates our world-leading position in collaborative efforts with supply chain partners to drive sustainability initiatives.
The Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) in the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire assesses how effectively companies collaborate with suppliers on climate change issues. It evaluates supplier engagement based on specific aspects such as governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions, and value chain engagement. This underscores our active promotion of climate change action throughout our supply chain through supplier engagement, governance, carbon accounting, and target setting.
In terms of supply chain governance, sustainable supply base is one of Wistron's six sustainability strategies, with relevant performance indicators linked to executive compensation. We conduct annual Scope 3 carbon footprint assessments and obtain ISO 14064-1:2018 certification through third-party verification. To align with the goal of limiting global warming to within 1.5°C as per the Paris Agreement, we have established dedicated units to follow the group's decarbonization transformation plan, actively collaborating with supply chain partners to implement three major sustainable supply chain initiatives: (1) supplier management system, (2) supplier knowledge sharing, and (3) promoting carbon reduction and net-zero in the sustainable supply chain.
In 2023, we initiated the implementation of ISO 14064-1:2018 greenhouse gas verification and ISO 50001:2018 energy management systems for high-energy-consuming suppliers. Simultaneously, through energy-saving project collaborations, expert team energy-saving diagnoses, and the deployment of solar power generation, we are gradually guiding suppliers towards substantial carbon reduction. We have established "supply chain sustainability resilience" as the main axis and shared the challenges and opportunities of sustainability resilience with supply chain partners at the annual supplier conference. In the future, we will continue to lead all business partners in exerting sustainable influence and fostering a mutually beneficial green supply chain.
