With the vision of “Sustainability through Innovation,” Wistron has expanded our global business while taking environmental responsibility into account by building green plants that are energy-saving, water-saving, and environmentally friendly. Our manufacturing plant in Vietnam received LEED v4 Silver certification for Building Design and Construction: New Construction and Major Renovation category by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in June 2022.

The Wistron Vietnam Plant has a total floor area of nearly 214,000 square meters. The plant is based on the concept of green building from the beginning, integrating various environmentally friendly and energy-saving designs. In terms of energy saving, the plant built a complete power consumption monitoring system. Together with the comprehensive use of environmentally friendly refrigerants and the practice of energy-saving habits by employees in their daily work, the overall energy saving is 23.8% compared to the ASHRAE 90.1 2010 benchmark annual energy consumption defined by LEED certification. For the use of renewable energy, solar power generation equipment of nearly 24,000 m2 has been installed on the roof of the plant, accounting for 8.8% of the plant's electricity consumption. In addition, in response to the trend of green transportation, plans are to install electric-vehicle charging infrastructure in the plant. In terms of water saving, the plant is also equipped with a comprehensive water monitoring system and the entire plant adopts water-saving facilities and implements rainwater recycling supplying 100% of the water used for plants and landscaped areas. This system could achieve water savings of up to 53% compared to the LEED design benchmark.

Wistron uses green building assessment indicators as the basis for new plants, taking into account environmental and ecological issues, as well as energy efficiency, in order to demonstrate the company's ambition for sustainable development.
