Trees and bushes play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of our environment, as it offers clean air, conserves water, and provides habitat for various species.
Acknowledging the importance of nature preservation, our company, Wistron, has been actively supporting the local community by engaging in tree and bush planting activities. Each year, we are committed to the preservation of the environment near Brno. And so, as the development of a bio-corridor to prevent potential flooding in the area was proposed to us by the Menin municipality, we gladly accepted the collaboration opportunity to support this cause.

As our first gesture, Wistron donated 120,000 CZK to support this cause, in which the entire amount was utilized to purchase 70 trees and 300 bushes, along with the necessary protection equipment such as mesh and support poles for the trees. On October 14th, 2023, the event took place in the village of Menin. It was truly heartwarming to see the participation of approximately 133 employees and family members, and it was not only as an act of community support but also a personal commitment to the environment.
The impact of this activity on the local community and the environment should not be underestimated. The bio-corridor will provide a natural barrier, helping to regulate water flow and reducing the risk of potential flooding disasters. Furthermore, trees act as natural air filters, absorbing harmful carbon dioxide emissions. It has been estimated that a single tree can absorb up to 22 kg of emissions per year. By planting more trees, we are actively working towards reducing our carbon footprint and combating climate change.
