A Green Transformation: Sustainable Actions Rooted in Kaohsiung Opto-Electronics Inc.(KOE)

On the journey toward sustainability, KOE was honored with the "Green Business Certification" in 2024. This recognition is not only a testament to our dedication to green commitments but also a milestone symbolizing our deep, inside-out transformation. The company has continuously promoted energy-saving equipment, established comprehensive waste sorting and recycling areas, and diligently implemented classification systems to ease the burden on our planet.
In alignment with ESG principles, we integrated sustainability into our initiatives by launching an “Online Walking Challenge” during KOE Family Day, encouraging employees to embrace health and environmental consciousness in their daily routines. Over the course of the two-month-long program, 63 participating employees increased their daily average steps from over 3,200 to more than 5,800. This effort not only enriched their physical and mental well-being but also effectively contributed to carbon reduction, yielding remarkable results.
This green movement has subtly spread throughout the office as well. During lunch breaks, some colleagues have quietly adopted low-carbon, healthier diets, while others have begun bringing reusable cups to eliminate the use of bottled water. These simple, yet meaningful actions reflect our commitment to the concept of "saving the planet through what we eat." From adjusting dietary habits, implementing plastic reduction initiatives in the workplace, to actively participating in company-led walking programs, every employee has played a pivotal role in this green revolution.
This wave of environmental consciousness has not only transformed our corporate culture but also prompted a reevaluation of our personal lifestyles. Beginning with small changes, a movement to protect our planet is quietly taking shape. We believe that making green living part of daily life is more than just a slogan—it is a promise to the environment and a gentle safeguard for the future.
