Wistron Malaysia Receives Recognition for Occupational Safety and Health Management System

SDGs

We are thrilled to announce that Wistron Malaysia has been honored with the prestigious  Gold Class 1 award at the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) Awards and received a Grade A in the factory audit conducted by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) of the Malaysian government for two consecutive years. The factory audit is scheduled every 15 months to ensure continuous compliance with safety standards and regulations across Malaysian factories.

These recognitions highlight our unwavering commitment to advancing occupational safety and health standards, reflecting our dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Achieving this accolade was no small feat and represents a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainability and corporate responsibility. Our commitment to OSH is integral to our operations, forming the backbone of our corporate ethos. It is predicated on ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for all employees, thereby enhancing productivity, and contributing positively to the economic growth of our organization.

Our journey toward earning the Gold Class 1 award and Grade A recognition began with the systematic implementation of comprehensive safety procedures. These include managing chemical hazards, controlling high noise levels, ergonomic risk management, regular workplace inspections of factories and machinery, employee welfare initiatives, and emergency response planning which aligned with the Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022. We are committed to continuous improvement through ongoing review and enhancement of our safety protocols.

Our focus on occupational safety and health not only ensures decent working conditions but also enhances our operational performance and efficiency. Safe workplaces lead to higher employee morale, reduced downtime, and drive economic growth—creating an environment where employees can thrive and innovate.

In conclusion, receiving the Gold Class 1 award and Grade A recognition is more than just an accolade; it is a testament to our commitment to sustainable development through occupational safety and health. As we continue to lead by example, we remain dedicated to upholding these values and fostering positive change—not only within our organization but also within the communities we serve. Together, let us champion a culture of safety and sustainability for a brighter, healthier future for all.
