Air Pollution Control
Wistron is not classified as a high-pollution emission industry. Air emissions from Wistron's production process primarily consist of thermal exhaust, soldering fumes, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the isopropyl alcohol used for cleaning. According to internal SOPs, the gas should be collected in the ducts for adsorption from waste gas treatment equipment before being emitted. The Company passes regular waste gas sampling inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Isopropanol waste liquid is centrally stored in a designated area prior to being transferred to qualified external contractors for disposal and transport. Wistron continues to inventory and manage VOC-containing substances and ensures that personnel at all relevant workstations are equipped with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and effective exhaust control systems during the use and storage of such substances. These measures help safeguard employee health and safety while reducing the potential environmental impacts of VOC emissions. To address the challenges posed by continued capacity expansion in recent years, Wistron has actively implemented VOC reduction strategies, progressively adopting cleaning agents with lower VOC content and replacing them with safer, low-volatility alternative chemicals. These efforts help enhance workplace safety while reducing environmental risks. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx) are generated within Wistron's plants only during fuel combustion from emergency generators. Because these generators are activated solely during emergencies (such as power outages) and are not regular operational sources, they are not classified as major emission sources.
