Employee Care: Bike To Work 2025

SDGs

In 2025, WCZ once again joined the nationwide “Bike to Work” initiative, a popular challenge promoting sustainable mobility, employee well-being, and team spirit. This activity is part of our broader commitment to employee care and environmental responsibility, encouraging colleagues to replace car journeys with healthier and more eco-friendly alternatives such as cycling, walking, or running.

The main goal of the initiative was to motivate employees to incorporate physical activity into their daily routines while reducing their carbon footprint. At the same time, it served as an opportunity to strengthen teamwork and engagement across departments. Participation was simple: employees formed teams of two to five members and recorded their non-motorized trips throughout the month of May, including commutes to work, errands, or leisure activities that would otherwise be done by car.

To support participation, the company covered the registration fees for all employees and ensured smooth onboarding through clear communication and guidance. Participants also received starter packages from the organizers, including themed T-shirts, which helped build a sense of belonging and shared purpose. Additionally, we provided year-round access to secure bicycle storage at our premises, making it easier for employees to choose cycling as a practical commuting option.

The initiative achieved strong engagement, with 31 employees actively participating. Beyond participation numbers, the results were particularly encouraging in terms of performance and motivation. Two of our colleagues achieved outstanding success, earning 1st and 3rd place in the “Green Kilometers – Men” category. As a company, we were also proud to receive the “Cyclo Employer of the Year 2025” recognition, highlighting our support for sustainable commuting and employee well-being.

Overall, the “Bike to Work” challenge proved to be a meaningful and impactful initiative. It not only promoted healthier lifestyles and reduced environmental impact but also fostered a positive and collaborative workplace culture. We see this activity as a valuable tradition and plan to continue supporting it in the future.
