According to the results of the 2023 environmental assessment published by the global environmental disclosure organization CDP, Wistron Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Wistron) stood out among over 24,000 global enterprises, receiving an A leadership level recognition in both "Climate Change" and "Water Security" questionnaires.
Compared to the previous year, Wistron maintained the highest A level in the climate change questionnaire, while its water security questionnaire improved from B to A-, placing it among the ranks of global carbon reduction leaders, successfully implementing its low-carbon transformation plan.
CDP, one of the world's largest environmental disclosure platforms, aims to promote environmental information transparency and facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy. According to the "Rate the Raters 2023: ESG Ratings at a Crossroads" survey, CDP is recognized by both global investors and businesses as one of the highest-quality rating agencies, with 80% of companies considering CDP to be the top-rated agency, ranking first in terms of usability.
Under CDP's rating framework, the Climate Change questionnaire consists of 11 major scoring dimensions to comprehensively assess whether companies have complete climate strategies and performance. Wistron received the highest A rating in all 7 dimensions, including "Governance," "Opportunity Disclosure," "Risk Disclosure," "Operational Strategy, Financial Planning, Scenario Analysis," "Emission Reduction Initiatives and Low-Carbon Products," "Scope 1+2 Emissions and Verification," and "Scope 3 Emissions and Verification," demonstrating Wistron's efforts in climate governance and low-carbon transformation are highly recognized.
In the Water Security questionnaire, Wistron also received A-level recognition in 6 major dimensions: "Operational Impacts," "Value Chain Engagement," "Water Measurement," "Water Policies," "Water Risk Assessment," and "Water-Related Opportunities," demonstrating Wistron's accountable management of water security through transparent policy disclosures.
Wistron's outstanding rating results in CDP are attributed to the establishment of a dedicated decarbonization organization, coupled with the adoption of digital technologies and platform tools to effectively track and manage carbon neutrality and net-zero carbon reduction goals. Wistron officially submitted its science-based carbon reduction targets for achieving Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon neutrality by 2030 to SBTi in August 2023 and set a blueprint to achieve Scope 3 net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, reflecting Wistron's steadfast commitment to sustainable development.
