2024 Wistron Zhongshan Plant First "Happy Summer Vacation Childcare Program"
SDGs
In the summer of 2024, Wistron Zhongshan (WZS) proudly introduced a vibrant and thoughtful initiative—the "Happy Summer Vacation Childcare Program." Inspired by the feedback and recommendations of the customer, this program was designed to address the challenges faced by working parents unable to accompany their children during summer break. It also sought to support left-behind children and their working parents, who often face prolonged separations due to work commitments. Furthermore, the program aimed to tackle the issue of children overusing electronic devices during the long summer vacation by offering a diverse and enriching curriculum.

Collaborating with quality educational institutions near the site, the "Happy Summer Vacation Childcare Program" curated a series of activities that were both entertaining and educational, tailored for employees' children aged 5 to 8. Running from July 15 to August 15, 2024, the program created an engaging and fulfilling summer experience for the young participants. Beyond the diverse offerings of the Ethical Supply Chain Program (ESCP), WZS introduced additional sessions to nurture children's reading habits and enhance their communication skills, fostering independent thinking and sparking curiosity about the world around them.
The program concluded with a memorable highlight—a "Rice Valley Study Tour," an outdoor adventure that offered the children a first-hand experience with the wonders of nature. This outing allowed them to see how classroom knowledge translates into real-world applications, broadening their horizons while filling their days with joy. Some parents shared that during this program, their children grew more confident and improved their interpersonal communication skills.

More than just a boost to employee benefits, the "Happy Summer Vacation Childcare Program" also marked a significant stride in advancing WZS's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. By weaving a culture of care into every detail, WZS found inspiration in the smiles of every participating child. Looking ahead, WZS will continue to embrace this passion for supporting its employees and community, fostering a nurturing environment where families thrive together in a soil rich with love and responsibility.
Note: ESCP refers to the Ethical Supply Chain Program.
