Carrying Kindness Across Mountains to Deliver Warmth When It’s Needed Most
In today’s rapidly developing society, where living standards continue to improve, many elderly individuals, children, and disadvantaged families in remote rural communities still face challenges in accessing adequate winter clothing and necessities during the colder months. For them, a warm winter coat is more than just a piece of clothing—it represents protection from the cold and the reassurance that they are cared for by society.
To respond to this need, fulfill its corporate social responsibility, and uphold Wistron’s longstanding commitment to caring for people, Wistron West China Sites have partnered with the Employee Care Club to organize the annual “Clothing for Warmth” charitable donation campaign every October since 2017. Employees are encouraged to donate clean, well-maintained clothing and daily necessities, turning acts of kindness into meaningful support for those in need.
Over the years, the initiative has attracted the participation of more than 10,000 employees and collected approximately 15,000 jin (7,500 kilograms) of donated supplies, benefiting over 1,000 individuals and children from disadvantaged communities. The warmth generated by this campaign has traveled across mountains and plateaus. From 2017 to 2021, donations were delivered to Dari County in Golog Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Since 2022, the initiative has continued to support communities in Arizha Township, Shiqu County, Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

Each donated garment helps shield someone from the cold, while every daily necessity contributes to a more secure and comfortable life. Through these efforts, the care and compassion of Wistron employees have reached communities far beyond the factory gates and into some of the region’s most remote areas.

Every campaign brings touching moments that reflect the spirit of giving. Frontline employees carefully sort and organize winter clothing, department managers voluntarily purchase additional supplies at their own expense, and younger colleagues devote their personal time to collecting, packing, and transporting donations. Though these actions may seem small, together they create a powerful and lasting force for good, demonstrating that community service is not just an idea, but something everyone can actively participate in.
The program’s long-term and targeted support efforts have also earned strong recognition from local communities. Arizha Township in Shiqu County, Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, presented Wistron with a commemorative banner and certificate of appreciation. The inscription, “Good deeds shine like the sun, and compassion shelters like a tree’s shade,” serves not only as an expression of gratitude but also as an encouragement to continue making a positive difference.
This warmth is made possible by the generosity and dedication of every employee at the West China Sites. Because so many people are willing to contribute a little more, care and compassion are able to overcome distance and environmental challenges, reaching those who need them most.
Looking ahead, Wistron Chengdu will continue to uphold its commitment to public welfare and social responsibility. Through ongoing charitable assistance programs, environmental initiatives, and community engagement activities, the company will continue to bring employees together and build a distinctive culture of giving that reflects Wistron’s values.
“Clothing for Warmth” is more than an annual campaign—it is a long-term commitment. By turning responsibility into action and kindness into meaningful support, Wistron continues to help warmth and compassion flow through society, year after year.
